TBH, there are moments with Goofy that make me uncomfortable (most of Goof Troop, especially). I can barely watch the episode of Spongebob where Patrick’s “parents” come visit. I also hate episodes where Wanda nearly cheats on Cosmo, because the reasoning is always that his mental state would excuse it. The “bad” part of Derpy’s portrayal was that it was shown as totally acceptable for her to be disliked by other ponies. She was just stupid, with no other feature beyond ruining things, and being disliked by Rainbow Dash. Even then, what was the point of slapping some passive aggressive note on an otherwise cute picture. D:
Derpy wasn’t disliked tho. Rainbow Dash would have behaved that way with anyone. She does this all the time to her five best friends. It’s just how she is.
Also, Derpy’s been shown having jobs, hanging out with other ponies, at social events, in the flying competition, helping out with the Hearth’s Warming Eve play in Canterlot, etc etc. There’s more to her than a two minute scene of her breaking stuff.
